The Hill did a little calculating and the amount that Big Labor intends to spend on Democrats in the 2010 elections rings in at a staggering $100 million. Imagine, $100 million in union dues wasted on Democrats. In a day when almost every single union pension plan is grossly underfunded, in a day when members aren’t allowed in most state to direct where their own union dues go, these member’s money is being taken from them and given to politicians that have done nothing for their long-term security instead making a world where their jobs and our economy is in dire trouble. And their union bosses want to perpetuate this horrid state of affairs just to keep their personal power!
Not only that, but we now live in a nation where unions only represent less than 20 percent of the work forces, yet their pocketed, puppet politicians are forcing the union’s will on the rest of us. So much for democracy!
Sadly, one of those unions putting big cash into the midterm races is AFSCME, The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. They are putting $50 million into the midterms to help continue the failed political environment that has led to the collapse of government we are now enduring.
You know the old joke about the evil genius in comics, “if only he could use his power for good.” Well, that is the situation we are faced with in this union infused environment.
